1. What makes KangaPlace unique?
KangaPlace was created by parents of young children for parents of young children. We make it easy for you to find the websites that your child is already interested in and additionally help you find new websites as your child grows and develops.
All the links available for pouches are reviewed by parents with parental concerns in mind as they are evaluated. We only include sites that we feel comfortable making available and additionally make notes for parents about any sites that we feel some may have concerns or issues with.
You can sign up for a free 30-day trial on the Sign Up page.
We are parents just like you. Privacy for our own children and yours is very important to us. Privacy concerns are a major factor in the design of KangaPlace.
The short answer is, we will not share, sell, rent or do anything with any identifiable information from your account or from your children. Additionally, we provide recommendations on practices and educational information for parents in teaching their children about online safety.
For more detailed information on our policy, see our Privacy Policy page.
4. Does KangaPlace only allow the user to visit the sites in the pouch?
No. KangaPlace does not prevent children or parents from visiting other sites on the Internet. Protecting children is important to us. As part of the service, we recommend additional third-party services (free ones if possible) that can and do provide quality content filtering. KangaPlace is only a website. It does not control your computer's access to the Internet.
5. Are there ads in KangaPlace?
No. KangaPlace does not display or show advertising to children or account holders. We may make recommendations for other products or services but these are made because we believe in them and they come without any payment or influence from third-parties.
Children may be exposed to advertising from the sites they visit. The contents of sites that the child visits are outside of our control and is the responsibility of the parent to be involved as appropriate.
6. Do my kids have to log in to get to their pouches?
No. KangaPlace was designed to allow children as young as 2 years old to access and use the site. Only account holders must log in to access the account maintainace and reporting areas of the site. Your child can reach their pouch through a special link that is available in the parents section of the site. We recommend making that link the homepage for your child to make it as easy as possible for them to use.
7. Can my kids use their pouch from anywhere?
Yes. KangaPlace was designed to allow children to visit their pouches and their favorite sites while they are on vacation or otherwise away from their home computer.
